Mystical world of Sufism in Uzbekistan (8 Days)

Overview

Uzbekistan is a country with a rich history and the medieval monuments, also known as the holy pilgrimage sites, where the numerous people can make a pilgrimage. The country is also the true home of Islamic culture and Sufism. Three of a total of 12 Sufi fraternities were formed in Central Asia, one in Uzbekistan. During this pilgrimage visit the most famous cities in the country and visit mosques, mausoleums, memorials of personalities who made a good contribution to Islam and the philosophy of the Sufi Order in Uzbekistan. The tour will take you to the mystical world of Sufi  in Uzbekistan.

Day 1. Arrival to Tashkent

Welcome to Uzbekistan! When you arrive at Taschkent, you will already be awaited by your travel agency and received a warm welcome. Together with your private chauffeur, you drive to the hotel, where you can first arrive in peace. Overnight at hotel.

Visit Khasti-Imam Square with the beautiful Barak-Khan Medrese, the Tilla-Sheikh Mosque and the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum from simple brickwork. Here you can take a look at the Koran, written by the third Caliph Osman (644 - 656). Next, visit the huge Chorsu Bazaar, whose oriental smells and spices will put you in the tales of 1001 nights. In the afternoon, continue your exploring tour of the city and visit the mausoleum Zayniddin Sheikh-bobo, son of the founder of the Sufi Order Suhrawardiyya. He was sent by his father to these places for spreading the ideas of the Sufi Order. Afterwards we go to the Zangi-ata complex - a place of pilgrimage for Tashkent and the surrounding area. In the morning 08:00 hrs drive with the express train "Afrosiab" to Samarkand. Arrive at 10:10 am. Today your visit to the breathtaking Samarkand continues. They visit the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the last retirement of the famous ruler Tamerlan. After a short walk you will reach the heart of Samarkand, the beautiful Registan Square with its three magnificent medresse: Ulugbek, Shir Dor and Tilla-Kari, mosque Bibikhanum, Ulugbek Observatory. Today we visit the holy pilgrimage of Samarkand. You visit Mausoleum and Mosque Al-Bukhari. His work «Kitab as-Sahih» is, according to the Koran, a sacred and instructive book. Only a few kilometers away is the tomb of the Holy Makhdumi Dahbedi Azam (1461-1542 gg.), The Sufi and the descendant Hazrat Ali. Complex of Khoja Ubaydullaha Ahror Wali (1404-1490) - an important political figure, the spiritual leader of the Sufi Order "Naqshbandi" of the second half of the 15th century. Overnight at hotel.

In the morning drive to Bukhara. Arrival in the city. Transfer to the hotel. Visit the Samaniden Mausoleum, the Bolshoi House, the Ark Fortress, the Mosque and the Minaret of Kalon, the Ulugbek and Abdul-Aziz-Khan Medes, the Dome Bazaar, the Lyabi- House Ensemble. Overnight at hotel.

Today's pilgrimage to the holy sites of Sufism begins with the visit of the graves of seven Sufi saints outside the city. Visit Tomb Abduhalik Gijduvani (1103-1179), the grave Khodja Muhammad Orif Ar Revgari, The tomb of Khodja Makhmud Anjir Fagnavi, the mausoleum of Khodja Ali Rometani, the grave Khodja Muhammad Boboi Samosi, the mausoleum Said Mir Kulal , Necropolis and memorial Bahauddin Naqshbandi. Return to the city. Overnight at hotel.

City tour in the surroundings of Bukhara. In the surroundings of Bukhara there are other places of interest not to be hidden. Your guide will introduce you to the secrets of the Summer Palace of the last Emir of Bukhara - Sitorai-Mohi-Khosa - and will show you the Mausoleum Choir Bakr. Transfer to the train station. Take the express train "Afrosiab" to Tashkent. Arriving at 19:10 h. Overnight at hotel.

Transfer to the airport in Tashkent. Here we say goodbye to the group. We have unforgettable memories. Flight home.
