Silk and Spices Festival in Bukhara

Overview

This beautiful tour is dedicated to the "Silk and Spices Festival" in Bukhara, the breathtaking architecture of the legendary cities of the Silk Road and the country's oriental culture. The traditional silk and spice festival is held in Bukhara every year on May 26-28. Its aim is to preserve the existing cultural heritage with all its specific characteristics and artistic ability and to support the arts and crafts such as gold embroidery, hand weaving, wood carving, carpet weaving, construction skills and the arts. The festival program includes performances by folklore groups from different regions of the country, national games and master class of Uzbek pilaf at the event “Pilawsayli”, a fashion show by young designers of Uzbekistan. A beautiful festive event will create an atmosphere of the oriental fairy tale that will bring the guests of Bukhara back a thousand years when the silk-laden caravans and the spices went from China to Europe through the mountain passes and deserted deserts and stopped in blooming valleys.

Day 1. Arrival to Tashkent

Today the big festival begins. With many locals from all over the country you will take part in the opening ceremony of the festival “Silk & Spices” and in the festival parade. Today you experience the festival with performances, folk games and competitions. Craftsmen and cooks compete. You will have a unique opportunity to see performances of folklore bands from different regions of the country, national games, master class of Uzbek plov at the event “Palovsayli”, fashion show by young designers of Uzbekistan. Around Bukhara there are other attractions that you should not be hidden. Your guide will share the secrets of the summer palace of the last Emir of Bukhara - Sitorai-Mohi-Khosa - and show you the Chor Bakr mausoleum and the Bakhauddin-Nakhshbandi ensemble. Drive to Samarkand via Shakhrisabz - birthplace of great Tamerlan (300 km). We visit the "White Palace" (Ak-Saray XIV century), including the impressive remains of the portal offer a unique mosaic decor. Next visit Bibikhanum Mosque, Shahi Zinda Necropolis. Overnight at hotel.

In the morning you visit the old paper factory and the Ulugbek observatory (XV century), which tells the fascinating story of the little son Tamerlan and you have free time to stroll in the oriental bazaar. In the evening you will take the train to Tashkent. Overnight at hotel.
