This beautiful tour is dedicated to the “Silk and Spices Festival” in Bukhara, the breathtaking architecture of the legendary Silk Road towns and the oriental culture of the country. The traditional silk and spice festival is held every year in Buchara on 26-28 May. Its aim is to preserve the existing cultural heritage with all its specific characteristics and artistic skills and to support art and crafts such as gold embroidery, hand weaving, woodcarving, carpet weaving, construction skills and art.
The festival program includes performances of folklore bands from different regions of the country, national games and fun, master class of Uzbek Plov at the event “Palovsayli”, fashion show by young designers of Uzbekistan. A beautiful festive procession will create an atmosphere of oriental fairy tale that will bring back the guests of Bukhara for a thousand years, when the silk-road caravans and spices from China to Europe passed through the mountain passes and desert and stopped in blooming valleys.

Arrival in Tashkent

Day 2

Tashkent-Urgench-Khiva

Breakfast.

Guided sightseeing tour of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. You will start with visiting old part of the city: Architectural complex Khast-Imam  where the world famous Quran, holy book of Caliph Usman has been preserved. The complex consists of Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Continue to visit the huge Chorsu Bazaar, whose oriental smells and spices will put you in the tales of 1001 Nights, stroll around Amir Timur Square and Independence Square.In the evening transfer to the airport. Flight to Urgench. Arrival in Urgench Airport. Transfer to Khiva (30 km). Hotel check in. Overnight in Khiva.

Day 3

Khiva

Sightseeing tour in the old part of Khiva – Ichan Kala known as “Inner town”. Ichan Kala is the biggest open air museum in Central Asia and consists of the following architectural monuments:  Ata Darbaza (West Gate), Kunya Ark, Muhammad Rakhim-Khan Madrassa, Muhammad Aminkhan Madrassa, Kalta Minor Minaret, Jome Mosque and Minaret, Islam Khodja Madrassa and Minaret, Said Alauddin Mausoleum, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, the last Khiva Khan Allakulikhan’s Madrassa and Tosh Hovli Palace, Caravanserai and Tim Allakulikhan.

Day 4

Khiva-Bukhara

Breakfast.

Transfer to Bukhara via the Kizil Kum desert. On the way stop to enjoy views of the desert and Amudarya River. Arrive in Bukhara late in the afternoon. Check in to the hotel.

Day 5

Bukhara Silk and Spice Festival / Opening Ceremony

Breakfast

Today you will have unique opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony of great festival “Silk and Spices”. The festival program includes performances of folklore bands from different regions of the country, national games and fun, master-classes, fashion show from young designers of Uzbekistan.

 Start walking sightseeing tour in Bukhara. . Visit the Samanids mausouleum, Ark Fortress,Chashma-Ayub, Kalyan Ensemble, Miri-Arab Madrasah, Magoki-Attori Mosque,Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrasah, trading domes, Lyabi-Khauz complex, Chor-Minor Madrasah.

Day 6
Bukhara- Silk and Spice Festival

Breakfast

The second day of the festival. Free day in Bukhara.  You continue having experience the festival with performances by yourself: folk games and competitions. Beautiful festive procession will start its way near the gates of Ark fortress and head to Lyabi hauz- heart of the ancient Bukhara.

Day 7
Bukhara- Silk and Spice Festival

Breakfast

Start Sightseeing around Bukhara. Visit Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – summer residence of Bukhara’s last Emir, unique site combining Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to Mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi and Chor Bakr necropolis. You have free afternoon.

Day 8
Bukhara-Shakhrisabz-Samarkand

Breakfast

Drive to Samarkand via Shakhrisabz. Shakhrisabz is a home – town of Tamerlane and during our 2-hour sightseeing tour, you can enjoy the bright example of Central Asian architecture of XIV-XV centuries by visiting: The Ak-Saray Palace – used to be a huge and incredibly beautiful residence of Timur. There are only two pylons (entrance part of the palace) preserved up to this day. Darus Saodat Compldex with Hazrat Imam’s Mosque and Jekhangir’s Mausoleum. Darut Tilavat complex with Kok Gumbaz (Blue Domed) Mosque of Ulughbek, Gumbazi Saidon and Mausoleum of Sheykh Shamsuddin Kulol. Arrival in Samarkand. Hotel check-in.

Day 9

Samarkand

Breakfast

Start sightseeing in Samarkand with a visit to the famous Registan Square – heart of Samarkand and real masterpiece of Central Asian medieval architecture, consists of three grandiose buildings: Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor and Madrassa Tilla Kori. After Registan, you will visit Gur Emir Mausoleum – a burial vault of Timurids dynasty; Bibi Khanim Mosque – the biggest medieval building in the city; Shahi Zinda Necropolis – unique complex of Mausoleums.

 Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 10
Samarkand-Tashkent

Breakfast

In the morning, you will visit the old paper manufactory and the Ulugbek observatory, which is one of the most important astronomical centers in XV. Then visit to Samarkand local bazaar – Siyab market. You have free afternoon. In the evening, you take the train to Tashkent.

Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 11
Departure from Tashkent

Transfer to the airport for the return flight. End of the tour.
