Arrive in Tashkent in early morning, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Meeting at airport. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation at hotel.
Visit Khasti-Imam Square with the beautiful Barak-Khan Madrasa, the Tilla-Sheikh Mosque and the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum. Here you can take a look at the Koran, written by the third Caliph Osman (644 – 656). Next, visit the huge Chorsu Bazaar. At 8.00 transfer to Kokand by express train. At 12.00 arrival in Kokand. Our guide will meet you at the station. Nukus -Ancient fortresses – Khiva
Afternoon drive to Khiva through the Kyzylkum Desert and visit the Khorezm Remains. You will visit the Toprak-Alter-Kala settlement, which was the capital of Khorezm in the 3rd century AD. It is the only fully excavated monument in Khorezm. Its size and genius of architectural design make Toprak-Kala one of the unique monuments of Khorezm. Ayaz-Kala was neither a city nor a settlement, it was a fortress complex, in which groups of the Kushan dynasty settled down. Continue to Khiva.
Khiva was the capital of the Khanate in the seventeenth century. It was one of the most major markets of Central Asia and prospered until the early twentieth century. Today the inner city, Ichan Kala, is a veritable outdoor museum open where you can admire the authenticity of monuments Kukhna Ark, the Friday Mosque and minaret, the madras of Islam Khodja etc. The city is surrounded by pink clay walls that give it the air of dating Middle Ages. Today, we make a reasonably early departure for the long drive back towards the east. After the first hour, our road runs alongside the Oxus River, locally known as the Amu Darya. Bukhara is a city of poetry and fairy tales. It is a city like a open-air museum, with 140 architectural monuments of antiquity. The preserved construction heritage of Bukhara is a strange combination of monuments from different eras. Drive to Shakhrisabz – motherland of Tamerlane, where the great ruler and military commander Timur ordered to build Ak-Sarai Palace, two mausoleums. Today Shakhrisabz is a small town at foothills with beautiful landscapes of snowy mountains, sunny steppes and herds of cattle.
