In six days a splendid trekking, accompanied by our carriers, we hoist us on this isolated peak. On the horizon, the plains of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan snow chains. Arrive in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Meeting at airport. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Visit Khasti-Imon Square with the beautiful Barak-Khan Madrasa, the Tilla-Sheikh Mosque and the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum. Here you can take a look at the Koran, written by the third Caliph Osman (644 – 656). Next, visit the huge Chorsu Bazaar, whose oriental smells and spices will put you in the tales of 1001 nights. Transfer early afternoon to Kumyskang to the north of Tashkent, at the foot of the chain of Chatkal. We spend the evening with the family of the guide, with the mule which accompany us during the coming days. Overnight in the homestay.

After breakfast, taken with our hosts, we descend to cross the river and reach the hills on the other side of the village. Taking altitude we find the whole Kumyskang, chain Chimgan and southern agricultural plains. The path rises, but so very gradual, following an old trail used by geologists during the Soviet era. This hike while balcony offers great views Area and we passed among the flocks of sheep which move freely in their summer pastures. The ridges are Kizilnura just above our heads, and that is where our trek starts. The road is twisty and steep at some places, but without major difficulty that we are taking the 600 meters separating us from the summit. From there, we have a point of view fantastic: protected string Chatkal, Grand Chimgan, the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and neighboring Kazakhstan, and the distant valley Fergana. We pursue a while on the ridge several kilometers long, before descending. A series of climbs and descents us then leads to the broad flat valley Kazkai. A torrent never dry, close, and wood in the area, offer an ideal site. Night in tents.

We go up a little hill overlooking our camp, to arrive in a limestone area that contrasts strikingly with the ocher land or surrounding shale. We then cross a long shelf without following any particular path, amid wetlands and pastures. Then we reach an old track at the neck of Aktahta and follow the slope of a ridge, to get closer to the top of Barangur. After passing a few small hills, we descend to its foot, a river bearing his name, to make camp. Night under attempted.
5-6 hours of walking. A: 640 m. D: 610 m. 14 km
We gently go up the valley taking in late sunlight coming warm the atmosphere. Then we go back to the Pass Aksakota. A last look back to admire the valley where we come to spend the night and continue on an easy path. See you 2500 meters of altitude, we walk without difficulty within a vast plateau, some peaks and valleys punctuated from time to time. We gradually get closer the summit of the Great Chimgan, which finally appears before us, massive and imposing in the panorama. This is time for us to put our luggage and enjoy the view while sipping a good tea hot. Overnight in tents.
5 hours walking. A: 860 m. D: 500 m. 12 km
Today, we go straight on towards the summit of the Great Chimgan, at 3310 meters! The trail is easy to follow in the footsteps left by shepherds and their flocks. We ascend slowly the southern slopes before moving briefly on the western slope, much more green and humid landscape that we have just been through. We are moving now between large boulders and snowfields last from the harsh winter. The summit is expected, and we must use our hands to lift us to the top. From this point of view fantastic, we gaze 360 degrees Uzbek mountains, Kyrgyz and Kazakh and blue waters of the great lake Charvak. A few pictures before heading down the same path as on the way, and then branching off to our right to the steep slopes of the southern slope. After some ups and downs in rock masses and fields of Great Mullein, we arrive at the Pass Khumbel. Overnight in tents.
7 hours walking. A: 920 m. D: 1180 m. 11 km
We continue our descent through the ridges. We find near the path of the old petroglyphs of nearly 9000 years representing animals that were living in the region. As and when our descent, small shrubs and trees take the place of alpine vegetation. In the bottom of the valley, the shepherds lead their flocks to the hills, while stunted houses emit baked bread smell. A little effort and we spend a small pass, before descending to Beldersay. We say goodbye to our team and their wish good return, before taking the road to Tashkent.

In the afternoon, flight to transfer to Khiva and Urgench. Installation in the guesthouse for two nights.

Khiva is one of the most remarkable cities of Khorezm oasis. It was the capital of the Khanate in the seventeenth century. It was one of the most major markets of Central Asia and prospered until the early twentieth century. Today the inner city, Itchan Kala, is a veritable outdoor museum open where you can admire the authenticity of monuments Kukhna Ark (the residence of the khans, sixteenth century), the Friday Mosque and minaret of the eleventh century, the madras of Islam Khodja (early twentieth century), etc. The city is surrounded by pink clay walls that give it the air of dating Middle Ages. Located in the Zarafshan valley, Bukhara has retained its original charm. She was one of the most radiant cities of the Silk Road, where traded including carpets and jewelry. Similarly, it was an important focus of the development of Islam at birth. The city houses hundreds of Islamic schools, madrassahs, and as many mosques and holy shrines. Historical monuments such as the Citadel Ark (current appearance of the sixteenth century), the Po-i-Kalan complex (XII-XVI centuries), madrasas Kosh, Ulugbek and Abdul Aziz (XV-XVII centuries), all Labi-Hauz (XVI-XVII centuries) evoke a particularly sumptuous past. Capital of Tamerlane, this city was the principal city of ancient Sogdiana. At the crossroads of major trade routes from China, Siberia, Persia and West. The Samarkand heyday came two centuries later, when Tamerlane made it the capital of his Empire, in 1369. The wonderful madrasas Registan Square (XV-XVII century), decorated with dazzling tiles, allow us to better understand the multiple influences that mark the Timur architecture. After the famous Bibikhanum Mosque, is the glory of Timur which is celebrated at the necropolis Shakhi- Zinda. Next to the mausoleum of Rukhabad stands the Gur-Emir tomb of the great conquerors which houses the remains of Tamerlane, his son and his grandchildren son. Overnight at hotel.
