Ulugbek observatory

In the vicinity of Samarkand on the "Kukhak Hill" is the Ulugbek Observatory, a unique historical and architectural monument. After Amir Timur died, his grandson Ulugbek Mirzo was in royal duties and successfully coordinated scientific activities in the city. He is known worldwide as the founder of the famous Samarkander astronomical school. His culmination, which brought him international fame, was the compilation of a star catalog "Ziji Jadidi Gurgani". The construction of the observatory at the observatory began in 1424 and in 1429 it was completed and fully equipped. After the tragic death of Ulugbek, the building was almost destroyed and has been almost forgotten for many centuries.
